Views from the train. Spectacular. Our new friend, Rex, explained to us that Hurricane Irene did an incredible amount of damage to this entire area. Highway 302 that we travelled through was closed for about 4 weeks. There were bridges out and the highway was severely damaged. The railway was also just recently reopened. On our travels these last few days, we have seen workers still repairing and cleaning up.
These pictures, however, show the beauty of the valley, that still remains.
