Besides purchasing a 'Harvard' sweatshirt, following the Freedom Trails, the third thing I REALLY wanted in Boston was enjoy the authentic 'clam chowdah.' Signs in the food court at Faneuil Hall actually are written 'clam chowdah.' (That excellent New England accent). There was a great outside restaurant and oyster bar in the market that we ate at, but it was so expensive. Having said that we still ordered a piece of Boston cream pie after our chowder.
In the evening, we had dinner at the 'Beantown Pub'.....and you guessed it....a seafood meal....lobster roll. OMG! Delicious. I had never had a lobster roll before coming on this trip. It is an incredible amount of lobster meat mixed with a little mayonnaise placed in a grilled bun with lettuce. You can barely get your mouth around it.
Definitely not a first date meal to enjoy.
